At Revive Pukekohe, we are a community of ordinary people with an extraordinary vision—to impact and transform our community with the love and reality of Jesus. Rooted in the legacy of revival, we embrace the call to live out God’s love authentically and share it with those around us.
We are a welcoming, open church that invites everyone to experience the life-changing power of Jesus. Here, you’ll find a place to belong, grow in your faith, and walk alongside others who share the same values and mission. Whether you're new to faith or have been walking with Jesus for years, our doors are open, and we’d love for you to join our journey of transformation.
At Revive, we believe that being the Church is more than just doing church. We are a community rooted in the power of Jesus, empowered by His Spirit, and living out a transformative faith that shapes every aspect of life. Our values reflect the authenticity of the Christian walk, the power of community, and the urgency of sharing Jesus with the world. We recognise that true revival is not only a moment but a lifestyle that impacts everything we do.
Revive is about more than fanfare. We aim to be true disciples of Jesus, not just enthusiastic admirers. Following Jesus is a radical commitment that involves surrender, obedience, and transformation. We believe that being a follower of Jesus is not just about saying “I believe” but about daily walking in His footsteps, being shaped by His love, and living out His kingdom values. We are called to take up our cross, walk with humility, and mirror His character in all we do.
Micah 6:8, “But He’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbour, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously.”
At Revive, we are more than a congregation—we are a family. The church is the body of Christ, and every believer plays a unique and essential role, just like in family. We are created for connection but we often drift to isolation. We believe that our relationships within the family of God are grounded in love, mutual support, and a shared mission. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to build one another up, and as a community, we reflect God’s love to the world.
Acts 2:42, “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.”
Revive is not just about hearing the message of Jesus but living it out authentically in our community. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus—“Jesus with skin on.” As followers, we are His representatives, reflecting His love, compassion, and truth to the world around us. Wherever we are, we want to live out the hope of Jesus in practical, visible ways, showing His love and making His presence felt in every corner of life.
Romans 12:1, “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him.”
Revive is more than a name; it’s a movement of God that flows through our very identity as a church. Our church was birthed out of revival, and that same spirit of renewal continues to shape who we are today. Revival is not just an event or a program; it is the heartbeat of our community and the way we engage with the world. We are a people who live in constant expectation of God’s transformative power, and we carry that revival wherever we go, letting it reshape us into His image. Bringing people from death to life.
1 Peter 2:9, “But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.”
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in living out the foundations of our faith with boldness and passion as a church.
We believe in the Trinity: one God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These persons are distinct yet united, co-existing in perfect harmony to create and sustain the world. As the Creator and source of all life, God’s three persons work together to fulfil His plans for humanity. The Trinity is essential to understanding God and His purpose for us.
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired, true word of God and our standard for life. Its truth, integrity, and relevance are vital. The Bible is a living guide, offering wisdom and direction on how to live, grow spiritually, and understand God's character. Through reading and studying scripture, we draw closer to God and deepen our understanding of His love.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God and central figure of Christianity. Sent by God, He became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, offering eternal life. His teachings on love, forgiveness, humility, and repentance are core to our faith. We believe in His resurrection, proof of His deity and the promise of eternal life for believers. We are called to follow Him, live holy lives, and share the gospel with others.
We believe salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, who was sent by God to offer eternal life. It is by grace, not by works, that we are saved. Repentance of sins and faith in Jesus bring salvation. The Bible teaches that God’s love and grace are always available, no matter our mistakes. By accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour, we gain the assurance of salvation and the promise of eternal life with God.
We believe baptism is a vital symbol of a believer’s commitment to Jesus and His teachings. It is an outward confession of faith and an essential part of discipleship. Baptism proclaims our allegiance to Jesus and marks a sacred milestone in our faith journey. We are committed to helping believers celebrate this meaningful experience, declaring our faith and desire to serve Him and others.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who unites God and humanity. The Spirit is our source of comfort, guidance, and strength, helping us understand the Bible and live out its teachings. We believe the Holy Spirit is always with us, guiding our walk with God. The Spirit empowers us with gifts such as wisdom, healing, and prophecy, enabling us to serve God and spread His love.
We believe the Church is a holy assembly of believers, united in faith and love. We are committed to serving Jesus and His kingdom, loving God, and being known for our love for one another. The Church is called to proclaim the gospel and serve all people. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we strive to follow Jesus’ teachings, living out our faith through loving actions and service to our community and the world.
We believe in the power of prayer, both individually and corporately, as a way to express faith in God’s work. Prayer is essential for communicating with God, seeking guidance, strength, healing, and protection. Through prayer, we deepen our understanding of God’s will and grow closer to Him. God answers in His time, and prayer is a powerful way to seek His love and guidance.
We believe marriage was instituted by God, ratified by Jesus, and is exclusively between a man and a woman, serving as a picture of Christ and His church. We also believe sex is a gift from God, designed for procreation and unity, and is only appropriate within the bounds of marriage.
Revive Pukekohe’s story is deeply rooted in revival, and we believe that revival is not just something we do—it’s who we are. Our journey began in 1922, with the powerful Smith Wigglesworth Revival meetings in Wellington, which ignited a passion for God that led a family to plant a church in Pukekohe. This powerful move of God continues to shape our identity today.
Through decades of growth and steadfast faith, the church built its own facilities in the 1970s, which remain our meeting place today. But more than a building, Revive is a community of people whose lives have been transformed by God’s power and presence.
For the past 17 years, we’ve been led by Pastors Craig and Trinity Jourdain, whose leadership has continued to foster the spirit of revival and transformation in our congregation. Under their guidance, our church has thrived, continuing to be a place where lives are changed and people encounter the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit.
At Revive, we are committed to living out the message of revival every day. It’s not just a historical event for us; it’s an ongoing work of God that we seek to embrace in every aspect of life.
Our vision is simple:
"At REVIVE, we want you to feel at home. Our heart is to see you connected to community, faith, hope, freedom, and ultimately, your Creator and His love."
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue building on the legacy of revival that has defined us for nearly a century. We are eager to see God move in new ways, to reach more people, and to continue growing as a community that is grounded in love, faith, and purpose.
